Objectives: Students will sort objects by color and classify items using a digital tool to create a sorting

product with teacher support.

Differentiation Strategies:

 Visual cues and color prompts
 Drag- and drop activities
 Small-group instruction
 One-on -one assistance for students with IEPs

ENGAGEMENT:
The teacher introduces colors using a short interactive video and classroom objects. Students identify colors aloud
and describe items by color.
Assessment: Teacher observes student responses and participation.
EXPLORATION:
Students explore a digital sorting activity on tablets, dragging objects into color groups.
Assessment: Observation of the student’s ability to interact with the technology.
EXPLANATION:
The teacher explains the terms sort, classify, and models sorting objects by color using the digital tool.
Assessment: Students' questioning and teacher checks for understanding.
ELABORATION:
Students independently complete a digital sorting page showing objects grouped correctly by color.
Assessment: Teacher monitors student progress and provides support.
EVALUATION: Students’ digital sorting products will be assessed using the individual Color Sorting Rubric.

Objectives: Students will work in small groups to create a digital counting product comparing

quantities as more or less.

Differentiation Strategies:

 Peer support in small groups
 Visual number models
 Adult guidance as needed

ENGAGEMENT:
The teacher reads a short counting story and asks students which group has more or less.
Assessment: Student participation during discussion.
EXPLORATION:
Students explore digital counters and practice counting in small groups.
Assessment: Observation of collaboration and counting attempts.
EXPLANATION:
The teacher explains more and less and models counting and comparing groups using technology.
Assessment: Questioning and student responses.
ELABORATION: Groups create a digital counting page or slide showing two groups of objects and label which has
more or less.
Assessment: Teacher monitors group work.
Evaluation: “Group products will be assessed using the Group Counting & Quantity Rubric.”
